How It Works

We face many different paths for learning. Some take us along the traditional routes of formal education while others take us along the non-traditional routes.  As a consultant, trainer, and teacher, I have discovered that people seem to learn best by understanding  smaller  rather than  larger   amounts of knowledge.

The strategy behind this series is to present 5 major focus areas relevant to each topic and related "tidbits" (i.e., suggestions) for each.  The result will be to improve both your personal and business communication skills.  The tidbits are represented by the acronym  STAR   which stands for :
 

S =    Situation

T =   Trouble

A =   Application

R =   Results

You proceed at your own pace. You decide which tidbit appears to be best suited to meet your individual needs and which ones will produce the results you want.

Use the Progress Journal at the end of each focus area to record your personal observations.
